![]() Unfortunately, I’m not at all surprised that there has been renewed Hollywood interest in retelling the Hills’ story-particularly their backstory-despite the fact that it’s been proven to be a complete fantasy. Just as that lame-ass new Jeffrey Dahmer miniseries isn’t really about his repulsive crimes but the far greater crime-in that disreputable producer’s mind-of so-called “white privilege,” the new Hill abduction series won’t be so much about aliens, I’d gather, but rather about how white America hated a black man marrying a white woman. The aliens will just be the hook to get eyeballs. ![]() Incident and how much I loved all of it. The early 70s was the golden age of pseudoscience married to commercialization, so books and movies and documentaries and TV shows and toys dealing with UFOs, the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, The Abominable Snowman, ancient astronauts, The Bermuda Triangle, the Lost City of Atlantis, the occult, Amway, and the Methodists, were everywhere.īesides, other far more qualified researchers and writers have thoroughly debunked the Hills’ account. You don’t need me to pile on, too…although it’s hard to resist, considering their story has taken on additional contemporary aspects-mostly racial, due to theirs being an interracial marriage-that now are supposed to immunize their account from any scrutiny. Prior to today’s fanatical, fascist wokery that is decimating Western culture, if you disbelieved the Hills you were merely a skeptic. If you’ve read some of my previous reviews (someone else needs a head shrinker…), you’ll know that I frequently mention growing up on stuff like The U.F.O. Incident back on October 20 th, 1975, just one: James Earl Jones’ hypnosis scene, where he cries and screams and, rather frighteningly, flips out. Clearly, as a ten-year-old, I must have registered that as the movie’s most terrifying sequence (Jones really goes for broke there, repeatedly delivering a believably unhinged, high-pitched squeal that will make your hair stand on end). The rest of the movie was lost to me until I saw it again this week. ![]() I have one vivid memory of watching The U.F.O.

![]() Rounding up to 70 DP to account for some support ships, this means you have roughly 130 DP to spend on ships and officers if you're going for single Ordos, 330 DP to spend for double Ordos, and 530 DP to spend for triple Ordos. Also, the biggest limiting factor is the "constant" term of you the player character: for your fleet, you as a level 15 officer count as 63.75 DP for XP bonus purposes. The enemy fleet simply isn't difficult enough. But that's because the fight is so small in the first place that it's even harder to make an effective tiny fleet to max out the XP bonus. So if you're just going for a single Ordos fleet, then yes you'll be very limited in the DP you can spend. Also, less need to worry about multiple Radiants at the end. Smaller battle size, less chaotic, less chance of something going wrong. However, what's easier to set up is a smaller fleet. Triple Ordos is what's needed for the enemy fleet to be big enough to max out your XP bonus with max fleet and max officers, so you don't really need to fight anything bigger in vanilla. Same with putting officers in those ships, since they add to your damage output. To max your XP gained per minute, you want to kill enemy ships as fast as possible, and to do that you want a bigger fleet which means more damage output which means more enemy ships killed per minute. The optimal way to farm XP, in terms of XP gained per minute of play, is actually triple Ordos using a full fleet of ships and officers. Invasion/conquest mechanics could be a more engaging end-game activity. Now, if you're more of the completionist type, you might consider colony improvements as "the end-game thing to do". Like, I think I've only done colony improvements for fuel, orbitals, and light industry, and mostly to deal with in-faction shortages. Other bad incentives come from encouraging SP farming. But piloting a Paragon is just about enough for me. ![]() If a maxed-out ship hits for, say, 150% of its DP, then a maxed-out Gemini should cost 9 and hit for 15 DP, or what? Calculations for Ordos seem to be just about right from my POV, 20%+ meaning possibility of losing a ship, 40%+ meaning bad news. Yesterday the game gave me +57% for three conquerors versus some LEVEL 7 RUTHLESS pirates, in Geminis.turns out autopilot was enough. The fleet strength calculations in the 'normal range' seem to overvalue big pirate groups slightly, and overvalue officers in low-DP ships. ![]() The way I see it, some of the bad incentives stem from not doing it the "Ruthless Sector" way, awarding XP for fleet composition and not for deployed ships in combat. Mods help with that but I'd like to see more base game content aimed at the end game. I'd like to see more late game content like maybe an extreme danger system that spawns dorito fleets to fight or more boss fights similar to the ziggurat. The doritos and special late game bounty you get are nice challenges but because they're not repeatable you do them and go back farming trash fleets again right after. I think the best way to fix this problem is adding more difficult, repeatable late game content. If you're at the point in the game where you're grinding ordos for SP you've basically won and are just going for victory laps at that point. It's made the game more fun since I actually use story points for things other than s-mods now and I save scum less since if I lose a ship I can always just buy another one.Īs for the original post I'd recommend just cheating the story points you need. ![]() I've been doing something similar with console commands in my games where I just subtract credits from my character whenever I need to install an s-mod and add a story point. ![]() Once again the guitar tandem of Alex Haslan and Colin Hendra pave the way to Heaven. The production is lovingly warm and old timey, with the guitars sounding bright and vibrant. Only the closer exceeds the 5-minute mark whereas most selections dwell in the 3-4 minute window. At a super tight 43 minutes, there’s not much fat on this holy cow. It ends things on an understated note though the sparkling guitar work is lovely. Closer “Digging Deeper” is a lesser chestnut though, not quite as essential as its companions. “Future is Gold” is effective and brooding with a touch of melancholy, and I like it a lot. My biggest complaint is the way the album winds out with two very tame, introspective pieces. “Endless Battle” is a stout, endearing ode to spilling blood in the name of the Sweet and Fluffy Lord that makes me want to pick up the Sword of Holy Wengeance, and that chorus is low-key massive (all things in moderation, my son). “A Thousand Years” has a chorus that’s sneaky infectious and becomes troubling when it takes hold, as you do NOT want to be singing it as you walk the aisles in Whole Foods or the Pudding Emporium. So uplifting, so catchy, so damn good, it angers the Devil in me.įrom there, Sacrament undergoes a slight slip in quality, but the album doesn’t come close to crashing and burning. It’s like AC/DC doing church rock and you should want that in your sinner’s veins. It feels worshipful and uplifting and yes, it isn’t far from what I imagine a Christian rock band would be cranking out in the rec center on a Saturday afternoon, but damn if it isn’t awesome! The first four cuts are all excellent, with the might and majesty of “Strong Heart” being another unstoppable paeon to piousness and purity, and even my ungodly soul is here for it. That lead riff is fire and Colin Hendra’s soothing vocals could tame a rampaging Cyclops Viking. “Angel of Light” is the same recipe with a different fruit topping and it too cannot be denied or resisted. The chorus is like flypaper and the whole construct is hot tar. It’s such a simple little song but you won’t want it to end. It feels like prime Blue Oyster Cult fused with Angel Witch and that’s a recipe I’ll put my trust in every time. It’s in that same exact framework – simple, stripped-down 70s rock mixed with NWoBHM ideas, carried by basic, gloriously catchy riffs and slick vocal lines that act like Crazy Glue on your brain. Mere seconds into enormous opener “The Fire’s Control” I felt I was hearing a hidden track from III: Pentecost. Can the Wytch Hazel white magic conjure another spellbinding opus? Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior? Don’t even try to close that door on my ape foot, chumbo. That makes it an especially tough act to follow, but here comes IV: Sacrament nonetheless. It scored the #3 spot in my Top Ten(ish) of 2020 and I return to it regularly when I need uplifting, positive sounds. 2020s III: Pentecost was an absolute smoke show of an album with cut after cut that stuck in my head and still linger nearly three years on. So much so in fact, that I don’t even mind their tendency to preach the power of Christ so forcefully. Hooks are ever present and there’s a special something in their writing. While bands dabbling in retro metal are a dime a dozen, Wytch Hazel bring an earnestness to what they do that somehow makes their output feel fresh and timeless. Every since I stumbled on Wytch Hazel’s sophomore opus, II: Sojourn, I’ve been enchanted by their breezy retro style that borrows from the likes of Angel Witch, Thin Lizzy, and Slough Feg. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sculptris Cheat Sheet Brushes Tools Objects Files Crease (e) Rotate (r) Flatten (f) Reduce selected Wireframe (w) Lmousebutton Ctrl Shift Alt Ctrl + Alt Shift + Altīestel direct uw Slaginstrument. ![]() We aren’t going into too much details on how to store coffee beans, we have a dedicated article for that. In this article we are reviewing the best coffee canisters on the market for the freshest beans possible. So to pay for that single origin, and to end up with a flat lifeless cup of coffee, is something that nobody wants. There is nothing worse than a flat shot of espresso, especially when you paid a decent amount to get great quality beans. Most coffee canisters will last for years, so it’s a solid investment.Storing coffee properly is one of the best things you can do to improve the taste of your espresso, or coffee. ![]() Start treating your coffee like gold by investing in a coffee canister. For this reason, it is not advisable to store coffee in the fridge or the freezer, as this can cause condensation to form inside the container or bag. Humidity and moisture can instantly ruin fresh coffee and may even cause coffee to go moldy if left for an extended period. For this reason, coffee should be stored in an opaque container wherever possible or, if in a transparent container, then covered with a cupboard. Well-made, freshly roasted coffee is susceptible to direct sunlight, and exposure can cause newly roasted coffee beans to go stale. It will help save coffee beans’ freshness and aroma. Baristas recommended keeping coffee in a storage container in a cool place out of direct UV rays, away from any heat sources such as radiators or the oven. Until roasted coffee is ready to be ground and brewed, it should be kept cool to lose its flavor. An airtight seal coffee canister will keep whole bean and ground coffee fresh and tasteful and extend its shelf life. If the physician feels that treatment would be beneficial, then he or she would provide all indicated treatments to the patient while simultaneously searching for more guiding information. Physicians caring for patients with life-limiting clinical conditions must carefully distinguish between interventions that are beneficial and those that are overly burdensome and potentially medically inappropriate or futile. The discomfort many physicians experience when discussing matters pertaining to end-of-life care and the ambiguity about which clinical service is responsible for holding such discussions (e.g., primary care, geriatrics, palliative medicine) also contribute to the lack of established goals of care. After her Instagram post with period blood-stained pyjamas went viral, she republished the book with Andrews McMeel Publishing. Kaur did not break into the literary world with a publishing giant or a famous literary agent, she self-published milk and honey while she was in college. Kaur’s non-traditional route to fame could be the reason behind it. Several Rupi Kaur haters also believe that she doesn’t deserve the praise and recognition she gets. They want to win, and each time they see the celebrity going about their business and not shutting up, they get more incensed. “They can't move on because they’re determined to see it through. Social psychologist Gena Cox calls it the “skin in the hate” game. So the very medium that has spawned Kaur’s fame has also spawned her community of haters-a community akin to a subculture in itself. It’s what helps us stick in groups, which is what has helped humans to survive and ultimately dominate. This hate, in a way, is wired into our system itself.
